Caminoking is mine. A niche affiliate and content brand built around the Camino de Santiago and long-distance walking. The audience is small but deep. The category rewards expertise.
Most brand projects I have led were for someone else. This one I run for myself. That changes the work in interesting ways.

What I did
- 1Topic authority on the Camino. Gear, routes, prep, recovery. Long-form, sourced.
- 2Affiliate as a consequence, not a goal. Recommend what works. Revenue follows trust.
- 3Email as the relationship. Pre-walk planning, on-walk encouragement, post-walk gear retrospective.
- 4Personal overlap as moat. I run. I walked 100 km. I am training for my first ultra. The reader smells the difference.
What I took with me
Authority is niche.
You cannot be the obvious answer for everyone. Pick a niche, go deep.
Affiliate is downstream of trust.
The traffic is meaningless if the recommendation is not believed.
Personal overlap is underrated.
What you do off-screen shows up on-screen. The hobby is the moat.
