Brand equity

Brand equity is the commercial value a brand adds to a product beyond the product's functional qualities. The value arises through awareness, associations, perceived quality, and customer loyalty. Strong brand equity makes it possible to charge a higher price and achieve lower price sensitivity.

An online store with strong brand equity can launch a new product and sell it without competing on price alone, because customers already trust the sender.
