Impressions

Impressions is the number of times an ad has been shown, regardless of whether the same person sees it multiple times. The metric underlies CPM based pricing and is used to calculate reach and frequency. Impressions say something about visibility, but not about engagement or effect.

An ad with 200,000 impressions and 2,000 clicks has a click through rate of 1 percent.
