Positioning strategy

A positioning strategy is the deliberate plan for how a brand should be perceived relative to competitors. It defines which qualities the company wants to own in the customer's mind and who it is speaking to. The strategy subsequently guides choices around messaging, price level, and channels.

An online store's positioning strategy might aim to be the trusted premium choice, thereby avoiding competing on lowest price.
