One consultant, not an agency

When you hire a freelance SEO consultant, you work with one person instead of an agency with changing hands. I sit in the analysis myself, know the history behind every recommendation and answer for the choices that get made. It is a different model rather than a criticism of agencies: less coordination, a shorter path from decision to action, and someone who genuinely knows your business.

I work through Profit Studio, which in practice is me. The advantage is that you get an experienced specialist on the task rather than a junior, without having to hire full-time. The approach builds on Profit Engineering, where SEO is seen as part of the whole business rather than an isolated channel.

What I solve

Most tasks fall into three categories, and most sites need all three to some degree. Where I start depends on where the fastest gain lies.

  • Technical clean-up. Errors that keep Google from crawling, understanding and indexing the site properly, often the fastest route to visible progress.
  • Structure and content. Pages that genuinely answer what people search for, prioritised by volume and business value, not just by what is easy to write.
  • Authority. Becoming the source other relevant sites, and increasingly AI assistants, point to and cite. Read more about that on my page about GEO.

If you want to go deeper into the method itself, I have gathered it in my SEO playbook.

Real clicks and impressions, not just a position on a leaderboard.

How I work

The order depends on the site, but some principles recur. They are not revolutionary. The value lies in doing the thorough work consistently.

  • Technology first. Is the site even easy to crawl, understand and load quickly? All other work is wasted if it is not.
  • Search intent over keywords. What does the person behind the search actually want to achieve, and does the page answer precisely that?
  • Prioritising by business value. The page that can move the most revenue comes first, not the easiest one.
  • Authority that counts. Quality over quantity in links, and internal link building, which most sites overlook.
  • Measurement that holds. Search Console and bottom-line figures, followed closely enough to adjust before anything drifts off course for too long.

Who I help

I work first and foremost with webshops and brands where visibility on Google has to end as sales, not just traffic. Some need a technical review and a second opinion, others need someone to take charge on an ongoing basis. Both are possible.

I am based in Copenhagen and gladly take on work in Denmark, but SEO knows no borders. International clients across the Nordics and the rest of the world are just as welcome, and the collaboration runs in Danish or English.

Background and experience

I have worked in depth with SEO for over ten years, and I am CEO of the Danish webshops Maxis.dk and Billigtraening.dk, where I face the bottom line every month. That colours how I approach SEO. Rankings are the means to the revenue they can become rather than the goal in themselves.

I have spoken at eTail Nordic and Savant eCommerce on using GenAI for content, tracking and profitability, and I have taught as a guest lecturer at Copenhagen Business School. You can see more examples in my cases.

FAQ

Freelance SEO consultant, in brief

What does it mean that you are a freelance SEO consultant?
It means you work with one person rather than an agency. I do the analysis and the work myself, know the history behind every recommendation and answer for what gets decided. No handovers to juniors, no middle layers.
Are you the best SEO consultant in Denmark?
The honest answer is that it depends on the task. Denmark has plenty of skilled SEO people, both agencies and independents, and the best person for a technical migration is rarely the best for local service SEO. My own background sits where SEO meets business, because I am CEO of two webshops myself. If you need someone who understands both the search engine and the accounts, that is where I can contribute.
Do you work with international clients?
Yes. I am based in Copenhagen, but SEO work knows no borders, and I gladly take on projects across the Nordics and the rest of the world. Communication runs in Danish or English.
What does an SEO consultant cost?
It depends on where you start and where you want to go. Some jobs are a one-off clean-up of technology and structure, others an ongoing collaboration with content and links every month. I always set the price against the expected gain rather than the number of hours. Book a meeting and I will give you a concrete quote.
Should I choose a freelancer, an agency or hire in-house?
It depends on the size of the task, your budget and how close you want to sit to the work. I have gathered an honest review of the pros and cons of each model on the page about agency, freelancer or in-house.
