Positioning

Positioning is the place a brand or product holds in the customer's mind relative to competitors. It builds on a deliberate choice of which qualities and values the company wants to be known for. Good positioning makes the choice easy for the customer while also defining who the product is not for.

An online store can position itself as the cheapest alternative or as the most sustainable, but rarely convincingly as both at once.
