Browser cache

The browser cache is the local storage in a user's browser of files such as images, stylesheets, and scripts from previous visits. On repeat visits, the files are retrieved from the hard drive instead of the server. This makes subsequent page views noticeably faster.

With a long expiration time on static files, a returning visitor loads the logo and stylesheet from the browser cache instead of downloading them again.
