Gzip

Gzip is a compression method that packs files together before the server sends them to the browser, which then unpacks them again. It significantly reduces the amount of data transferred for text based files. The method is widely supported by all modern browsers.

With Gzip enabled on the server, a large stylesheet can shrink to a fraction of its original size during transfer.
