A headless architecture separates the content layer from the presentation layer, so data is delivered via an API to an independent frontend. It gives freedom to build the user interface with modern technologies and publish to multiple channels from the same source. In return, the setup requires more technical work.

A company runs its content in a headless CMS and pulls it into both its website and a mobile app from the same data source.
