TLS

TLS (Transport Layer Security) is the modern encryption protocol that secures the connection between browser and server, and which has replaced the older SSL. It is the technology that actually underlies an HTTPS connection. Newer versions of TLS improve both security and speed.

A server should support a current TLS version and phase out outdated protocols that pose a security risk.
