Webhook

A webhook is an automatic message one system sends to another the moment a specific event occurs. Unlike a regular API call, the receiver does not need to keep asking, but is notified immediately. Webhooks are used to connect systems in real time.

When an order is completed, the payment provider sends a webhook to the webshop, which immediately updates the order status and triggers a receipt.
