500 Server Error

A 500 server error is a generic status code signalling that something went wrong on the server while processing the request. It is often caused by errors in code, configuration or overload. The user typically sees a blank or generic error page.

Repeated 500 errors in the server log during peak load often point to a database that cannot keep up with the number of concurrent requests.
