Customer Acquisition Cost

Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC) is the total cost of acquiring a new customer, divided by the number of new customers. The figure is often measured against customer lifetime value to assess whether growth is profitable.

A CAC of $30 is healthy if the customer's lifetime value is $200, but problematic if it is only $15.
