Customer Lifetime Value

Customer Lifetime Value (CLV or LTV) is the total value a customer is expected to generate over the entire relationship. The metric helps determine how much can reasonably be invested in acquiring and retaining customers.

If a customer spends an average of $70 a year for three years, the customer's lifetime value is around $210.
