Double opt-in

Double opt-in is a signup method where the subscriber must confirm their email address after signing up, via a link in a confirmation email. The method ensures the address is valid and genuinely belongs to that person. It gives a cleaner list and better documentation of consent, at the cost of a slightly lower signup rate.

After signing up, the user receives an email with a confirmation link, and only then does that person become an active subscriber.
