Open rate

Open rate is the share of delivered emails that get opened by recipients. It is typically measured through an invisible tracking pixel that loads when the email is opened. The metric has become less precise as more email clients preload images, but it is still used as an indicator of how well the subject line and sender name land.

A send to ten thousand recipients with two thousand opens gives an open rate of twenty percent.
