Preheader

A preheader is the preview text that appears right after the subject line in many inboxes. It functions as an extra line to expand on the subject line and pull the recipient into the email. A deliberately crafted preheader makes use of the space rather than repeating the subject line or showing random code.

The subject line promises a discount, and the preheader adds that it only applies today.
